Delicious food combined with local history makes the Peninsula Creamery a favorite in Palo Alto.
The Peninsula Creamery was founded in 1923, and in its hey-day operated 60 trucks delivering dairy goods.
The creamery was the exclusive supplier for Stanford, local high schools, businesses and restaurants, as well as offering home delivery.
Still owned by the same family that started the company, the Peninsula Creamery now offers great specialty sandwiches along with premium milkshakes, malts, and floats.
Open from 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes and scrambles are served until 11 am daily.

Humphry Slocombe is a fairly new ice-cream shop that has quickly turned into a quirky local favorite in the Mission district of San Francisco.
Opened in 2009; the shop’s lines are often long and out the door, but the unique flavors and un-matched creaminess of ice-cream make it well worth the wait.
Local, organic ingredients, and unique flavors, of which ten or twelve are selected and offered each day, allure sweets lovers to this exotic ice cream shop. Sure there is vanilla and chocolate, but why not try Government Cheese, Jesus Juice, or Thai chile-lime sorbet?
One of the most popular flavors is Secret Breakfast, a combination of cornflakes and smoky bourbon.
With more than 80 flavors, there is something different to try with each visit.
